Stevenage Haven exists to provide shelter and support for people experiencing homelessness in Stevenage and North Hertfordshire. The charity helps these people get back on their feet and into secure shelter within their local community - and their mission is to ensure that everyone who becomes homeless has immediate access to safe accommodation, as well as the care and support needed to transform their lives for the better.

Generous locals are challenged to beat last year’s national collection, which saw more than 1,600 presents donated nationwide. So far over 4,500 gifts have been collected for charities across the UK in the history of the Access Self Storage Christmas appeals.

Barbara Howard Director of Stevenage Haven “We are so thrilled that Access Self Storage Stevenage has chosen us for another year to receive donations collected by the store. These gifts donated by our local community, really do help to put a smile on people’s faces over the Christmas period. The Christmas period is a tough time for many people not least the homeless and community support such as this is a powerful message that their community is thinking of them.”

Access Self Storage Stevenage manager Ian Girvan said: “Working annually with  Stevenage Haven we have become close to the charity and the tireless work they do. We are really looking forward to working with the community to make this our best year yet! ”

Girvan continued: “it is so heart-warming to know that people are going out of their way to think about others they don’t even know, especially at such a busy time of the year.”
