The annual Access Self Storage Easter egg appeal is open to the people of Stevenage for the very first time. This year the campaign - which has seen more than 2,800 chocolate eggs given to dozens of charities since it launched in 2011 - will benefit Access Self Storage Stevenage’s nominated charity: Stevenage Haven

Stevenage challenged to smash Easter egg record!

People of Stevenage urged to donate chocolate eggs to

Stevenage Haven

Ian Green, manager of Access Self Storage Stevenage said: “We know that people are very generous at Easter, and we hope they will consider doing something to help people of all ages who are homeless at this time of year, who depend on Stevenage Haven to have a roof over their head. We have a store room ready to fill with eggs before we take them to people who really do need our help this Easter.”

Staff have already begun collecting eggs and people are invited to bring donations into the Stevenage store any time before April 13th, when a delivery will be made to the charity.

Green added: “This is the first year that we’ve asked our community to help us collect chocolate eggs to give to such a deserving local cause. We’ve learned that other stores have collected more than 100 chocolate eggs in previous years and we’d like to set a similar record for Stevenage Haven.”

In 2016, the most generous regions in the Access Self Storage Easter egg appeal were Guildford with 150 eggs, Camberley and Manchester with 122 eggs each, followed by Portsmouth with 76 eggs and Southampton with 75.

Stevenage Haven exists to provide shelter and support for single people experiencing homelessness in Stevenage and North Herts.
